Obituary for Joe Sills
Joe Donald Sills, born November 29, 1934, beloved husband and father, passed away at home on November 28, 2019 with his family.
Joe was married to Glenda Jeannene Huss, of Paducah, Kentucky, on March 20, 1953. Together they have four children; Donald (Starr) Sills, of Paducah, Caron (Stephen) Massey, of Paducah, Ron (Laurie) Sills, of Lumberton, Texas, and Tammy Sills, of Paducah.
After high school Joe went to work for IC Railroad before starting his career with GAF/ISP, during which he served as the business representative for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (district 154). Before retirement, Joe cultivated his passion for motorcycles and founded Sills Cycle Center in 1962, later becoming Sills Harley-Davidson in 1984. He was also a member of the Kentucky National Guard.
Those who knew Joe will remember his love of the mandolin, motorcycles, family and his church. Serving as Deacon for Trinity Baptist Church in Paducah, Joe shared his faith with everyone he met.
Surviving are 11 grandchildren: Jon (Lindsey) Camp, of Nashville, Tennessee, Brady (Alecia) Camp, of Benton, Kentucky, Jesse (Jeremy) King, of Paducah, Tyler (Jessica) Sills, of Paducah, Jill Massey, of Atlanta, Georgia, Ashley (Matthew) Woodall, of Paducah, Cory (Ryan Thurman) Camp, of Nashville, Dustin (Taylor) Sills, Breahanna Sills, Logan Sills, and James Sills, all of Lumberton; and 11 great grandchildren.
Preceding in death were his parents, Fred and Ollie Sills, formerly of Paducah; and one sister, Juanita Sills.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Sunday, December 1, 2019 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Homes with Dr. Kenneth Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Little Obion Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the Lone Oak Chapel.
